All BMW models up to now have the brake calipers aft of the axle, this one has it fore.
Minis, and the X2 have it fore... in case that helps.... it might be an indication of chasis sharing

I mean, Some Porsches have the brakes mounted fore and those tend to be AWD or RWD. It is just an indication it might be BMW using the extended Mini platform.
